PESADO PRECISION COFFEE TOOLS
Pesado coffee tools are designed in Melbourne Australia by founder Andrea Dolegna, and his range has slowly grown from the Pesado 58.5 tamper to now include coffee portafilters, extraction tools and coffee accessories.
The first item, the Pesado Tamper was designed overside with a sharp radius to maximise the tamping surface area, and then Andrea paired up with IMS in Italy to build a basket which would perfectly match his Pesado 58.5 tamper. The baskets allow for excellent water flow and an outstanding finish in the distribution and neatness of the hole pattern.
The shower screens dramatically improve water distribution from the coffee machine, thanks to a high strength membrane which allow the screens to perform consistently for an extended periods of time.
Next came the Pesado coffee machine portafitler. The Pesado Portafilters, originally to complete the look and patch the tampers, but then came the stainless portafitler inspired by the La Marzocco stainless portafilter and improved upon in order to now have an oring between the portafilter and spout. This allowed for a removable design which was unique in form.
The stainless steel offered increased temperature stability and easy of clean, and the wooden and aluminium handles added a level of class over the standard plastic handles. The Wooden and premium Pesado Modular handles have definitely become an Instagramable handle paired up with top end coffee machines.
To complete the set, Andrea paired up with WPM to build his own, sharp tipped milk jugs and a dosing cup to complete the precision coffee tool collection. Personally we now use a Modular Portafilter and 58.5 Tamper on our showroom Kees Speedster.
