Take the guesswork out of espresso puck preparation with the Timemore AutoSpin WDT Tool. Designed to provide consistent and repeatable coffee distribution, the AutoSpin uses a motorised 12-needle orbital system to break apart clumps and create a more uniform coffee bed before tamping.
Unlike manual WDT tools, which rely on the speed, depth and movement of the user, the AutoSpin automatically follows a controlled distribution cycle. Its bidirectional movement alternates between clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation, helping distribute coffee throughout the basket without continually pushing grounds towards the outer edges.
Operation is completely automatic. Place the AutoSpin onto a compatible portafilter and the motor activates on contact. Once the distribution cycle is complete, simply lift the tool away and continue with tamping. The open-top construction also lets you watch the planetary needle movement as it works.
A wide four-point support structure helps centre the tool and keep it level over compatible 58mm straight-wall baskets. When the AutoSpin is resting on the bench, the external supports also help protect the delicate needles from accidental contact.
Powered by a rechargeable 500mAh lithium battery, the AutoSpin can complete more than 2,000 preparation cycles from a single charge. USB-C charging and a compact cordless design make it equally suited to home espresso stations and high-volume coffee workflows.
